On Independence Day;Two soldiers martyred in Harnai terror attack………….Rawalpindi: Security forces are determined to thwart efforts to sabotage the peace, stability and development of Balochistan with the nation on the occasion of 75th Independence Day. Two soldiers of the Pakistan Army were martyred and a major was injured in an attack on a security forces post in Harnai area of Balochistan. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), terrorists fire raided a security forces post in Khost. “During an effort to stop fleeing terrorists, a heavy exchange of fire took place between terrorists and a security forces patrol,” the ISPR said.
During the skirmish, Naik Atif and Sepoy Qayyum embraced martyrdom while Major Umer was injured. The military’s media wing maintained that after having successfully repulsed the distant fire raid, the escaping terrorists were pursued into the nearby mountains.The ISPR statement further said, “on the eve of 75th Independence Day of Pakistan, the security forces, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging Balochistan’s peace, stability and progress.”On Saturday, an army soldier was martyred in an IED blast in Lower Dir as militants stepped up attacks against security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Similarly on Aug 9, four soldiers were martyred in a suicide blast at a military convoy in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan district.
