ون ڈے کرکٹ میں اب تک تمام ڈبل سنچریاں اوپنرز کے نام تھیں۔ یہی نہیں، یہ پہلا موقع ہے جب کسی آسٹریلوی بلے باز نے ون ڈے کرکٹ میں ڈبل سنچری سکور کی۔ وہ تیز ترین ڈبل سنچری کا ریکارڈ صرف دو گیندوں سے حاصل نہ کر سکے، انڈیا کے ایشان کشن نے یہ کارنامہ 126 گیندوں میں انجام دیا تھا جبکہ میکسویل نے 128 گیندوں کا سامنا کیا لیکن میکسویل کی ڈبل سنچری اس سے کہیں زیادہ ناگفتہ بہ حالات میں کھیلتے ہوئے بنائی گئی۔ یہی نہیں بلکہ ون ڈے کرکٹ میں رنز کا تعاقب کرتے ہوئے یہ پہلی ڈبل سنچری ہے۔ تاہم افغانستان کے خلاف میچ میں جب گلین میکسویل بیٹنگ کے لیے آئے تو عظمت اللہ نویں اوور کی پہلی دو گیندوں پر پہلے ہی دو وکٹیں لے چکے تھے اور ہیٹرک پر تھے۔ ایسے میں میکسویل پر ہیٹ ٹرک بچانے کا دباؤ تھا اور وہ بال بال بچے۔ گیند ان کے بلے کا بیرونی کنارہ لے کر وکٹ کے پیچھے چلی گئی لیکن کیپر کے دستانے تک نہیں پہنچی۔آسٹریلیا نے چار وکٹوں کے نقصان پر 49 رنز بنائے تھے اور میکسویل نے یہاں سے اننگز کا آغاز کیا۔ ایک وقت پر افغانستان کے 292 رنز کے جواب میں آسٹریلیا کا سکور سات وکٹوں پر 92 رنز تھا اور افغانستان کے سامنے جیت کے واضح آثار تھے۔ پورے سٹیڈیم میں افغانستان کی ٹیم کو بھرپور سپورٹ حاصل تھی اور ایسا لگ رہا تھا کہ افغان ٹیم اس ورلڈ کپ کا سب سے بڑا اپ سیٹ اپنے نام کر لے گی۔ میکسویل اس وقت 26 رنز پر کھیل رہے تھے۔ ٹیم کے کپتان پیٹ کمنز ساتویں وکٹ کے گرنے پر میکسویل کے ساتھ کھیلنے آئے۔ کمنز صرف ایک سرے پر کھڑے ہو کر دیکھتے رہے اور میکسویل نے گیم بدلنا شروع کر دیا۔ اس دوران ایک بار سکوائر لیگ اور ایک بار مڈ آف پر ان کے کیچ چھوٹے لیکن ان کا اعتماد متزلزل نہ ہوا بلکہ بڑھتا ہی گیا۔ کچھ ہی دیر میں انھوں نے 76 گیندوں میں اپنی سنچری مکمل کر لی جبکہ کمنز دوسرے سرے پر دوہرے ہندسے تک نہ پہنچ سکے۔میکسویل کے اصل رنگ ان کی سنچری کے بعد نظر آئے۔ وہ بھلے ہی ایک طوفانی بلے باز کے طور پر جانے جاتے ہوں لیکن دباؤ کے لمحات میں وہ ہمیشہ الگ نظر آتے ہیں لیکن وہ یہاں جسمانی تکالیف اور درد میں بھی ثابت قدم رہے۔سنچری کے ٹھیک بعد انھیں کریمپس آنے لگے۔ بائیں ٹانگ میں درد محسوس ہوا اور ٹیم فزیو کو میدان میں آنا پڑا۔ اس وقت آسٹریلوی ٹیم فتح سے تقریباً سو رنز دور تھی۔ ان کی بائیں ٹانگ کا مسئلہ کمر کے مسئلے میں بدل گیا اور میکسویل کو کئی بار میدان میں درد سے لوٹ پوٹ کرتے دیکھا گیا۔ ایک وقت ایسا بھی آیا جب وہ نہ صرف رن لیتے ہوئے میدان میں گر پڑے بلکہ کریز پر پہنچنے کے بعد ایسا لگ رہا تھا جیسے وہ شدید تکلیف کے باعث اب کھیل مزید جاری نہیں رکھ سکیں گے۔ یہاں سے ان کا اپنے پیروں پر کھڑا ہونا بھی مشکل تھا۔ ان کے بعد بیٹنگ کے لیے میدان میں آنے والے ایڈم زمپا دو بار باؤنڈری کے پاس آئے کہ کہیں انھیں بلایا نہ جائے۔ 41ویں اوور کے وقت ایسا لگ رہا تھا کہ میکسویل کو سٹریچر پر باہر لے جانا پڑے گا لیکن میکسویل دوبارہ اپنے پیروں پر کھڑے ہو گئے اور زمپا کو واپس پویلین میں ہی انتظار کرنا پڑا۔2010-11 میں میکسویل نے آسٹریلوی ڈومیسٹک کرکٹ میں 19 گیندوں پر تیز ترین نصف سنچری بنا کر لوگوں کو اپنی طرف متوجہ کیا اور کچھ ہی وقت میں وہ ون ڈے ٹیم میں جگہ بنانے میں کامیاب ہو گئے۔ہوم گراؤنڈز پر کھیلے گئے سنہ 2015 کے ورلڈ کپ میں انھوں نے سری لنکا کے خلاف صرف 51 گیندوں پر سنچری سکور کی جو اس وقت آسٹریلیا کے کسی بھی بلے باز کی تیز ترین سنچری تھی۔
واضح رہے کہ افغانستان کے خلاف میچ آسٹریلیا کے سات کھلاڑی پویلین لوٹ چکے تھے اور کمنٹری باکس میں موجود کیوی کمنٹیٹر ایئن سمتھ نے اپنے ساتھ بیٹھے میتھیو ہیڈن سے کہا کہ ’کیا آسٹریلیا یہ میچ بغیر کسی مقابلے کے افغانستان سے ہارنے والا ہے۔‘میتھیو ہیڈن نے انھیں ہنستے ہوئے جواب دیا کہ ’آپ نے یہ کیا کہہ دیا۔۔۔ یہ بات آسٹریلیا کی تھوڑی سی آبادی کو خاصی ناگوار گزری ہو گی۔‘ویسے تو آسٹریلیا اور نیوزی لینڈ روایتی حریف بھی ہیں لیکن یہ جملہ کسی بھی آسٹریلوی سپورٹس ٹیم کے لیے کہنا اس کی توہین ہو سکتا ہے کیونکہ آسٹریلوی ٹیموں کا کھیلنے کا نظریہ ہمیشہ ’کبھی ہار نہ ماننے‘ کا رہا ہے۔ یہ ان کے سپورٹس کلچر کا حصہ بھی ہے۔ 292 رنز کے ہدف کا تعاقب کرنے والی آسٹریلوی ٹیم کے 19ویں اوور میں 91 رنز پر سات کھلاڑی آؤٹ ہو چکے تھے۔ اس گراؤنڈ پر دوسری اننگز میں فاسٹ بولرز خاصے خطرناک ہو جاتے ہیں اور لائٹس میں گیند سوئنگ کرنے لگتا ہے اور ایسا ہی ہوا اور نوین الحق اور عظمت اللہ نے دو دو کھلاڑیوں کو پہلے دس اوورز میں پویلین کی راہ دکھا کر آغاز میں برتری حاصل کر لی تھی۔ اس کے بعد ایک رن آؤٹ اور راشد خان کی عمدہ بولنگ نے آسٹریلیا کو 91/7 تک محدود کر دیا تھا اور افغانستان کے لیے ایک تاریخی فتح صرف تین وکٹیں ہی دور تھی۔ میکسویل ایک انتہائی کلوز ایل بی ڈبلیو سے ڈی آر ایس کے باعث بچنے میں کامیاب ہو چکے تھے تاہم ایسے میں انھوں نے اسی اوور میں سپنر نور احمد کے خلاف سویپ شاٹ کھیلی جو سیدھی شارٹ فائن لیگ پر کھڑے مجیب الرحمان کے ہاتھوں میں جاتی دکھائی دی۔ یہ انتہائی آسان کیچ تھا، لیکن مجیب نے شاید آخری لمحے میں گیند سے نظریں ہٹا لیں اور ایک انتہائی آسان کیچ گرا دیا۔۔۔ اور شاید افغانستان کی سیمی فائنل تک رسائی حاصل کرنے کی امیدیں بھی۔ اس کے بعد سے میکسویل نے جو کیا اسے ون ڈے کرکٹ کی تاریخ کی سب سے لاجواب اننگز کے طور پر یاد کیا جائے گا۔ اس کی وجہ یہ بھی ہے کہ میکسویل کو نہ صرف افغانستان کے بہترین سپنرز کا سامنا کرنا تھا بلکہ اس بات کو بھی یقینی بنانا تھا کہ وہ آسٹریلوی بولرز کے ساتھ بیٹنگ کرتے ہوئے زیادہ سے زیادہ سٹرائک لیں۔تاہم کچھ ہی دیر بعد میکسویل کو ایک اور مسئلے سے بھی دوچار ہونا تھا۔ایسی صورتحال میں میکسویل نے یہاں وہ انداز اپنایا جس کے لیے وہ جانے جاتے ہیں اور جارحانہ بیٹنگ کا مظاہرہ کرنے لگے۔ ان کے بلے سے نکلنے والے ہر سٹروک کے پیچھے طاقت کے ساتھ ساتھ ٹائمنگ بھی لاجواب ہوتی اور وہ اوور کے آخر میں باآسانی سنگل لینے میں بھی کامیاب ہو جاتے۔ اس سب کے درمیان دوسرے اینڈ پر موجود پیٹ کمنز اور افغان بولرز صرف خاموش تماشائی بننے پر مجبور ہو گئے۔ جیسے ہی میکسویل کی سنچری مکمل ہوئی تو ان کی ٹانگ میں واضح طور پر تکلیف کے آثار نمودار ہونا شروع ہو گئے۔ میچ میں کئی مرتبہ فزیو کو میدان میں آ کر میکسویل کو دوا دینی پڑی لیکن وہ ریٹائرڈ ہرٹ نہیں ہوئے میدان پر رہے اور ایک جینیئس بلے باز کی طرح صرف ایک ٹانگ پر کھڑے ہو کر ایسی شاٹس کھیلتے رہے جو دیکھ کر سب ہی حیرت میں مبتلا ہو گئے۔ اپنے کندھوں پر تمام ذمہ داری لیتے ہوئے میکسویل آخر تک جارحانہ انداز میں بلے بازی کرتے رہے اور اچھی گیندوں کو بھی باؤنڈری پار پہنچاتے رہے اور آخرکار اپنے آخری چھکے سے ڈبل سنچری بنانے میں کامیاب ہو گئے۔ اس افغان بولنگ لائن اپ اور ایسی میچ صورتحال اور ذاتی صحت کو دیکھتے ہوئے میکسویل کی یہ اننگز یقیناً ون ڈے تاریخ کی بہترین اننگز میں سے ایک گردانی جائے گی۔ میکسویل نے آسٹریلیا کی مقابلے کے بغیر نہ ہارنے کی سپرٹ برقرار رکھی اور 10 چھکوں اور 24 چوکوں سے بنائی گئی ڈبل سنچری سے آسٹریلیا کو سیمی فائنل تک پہنچانے میں کامیاب ہو گئے۔ افغانستان کے بولرز کی جتنی تعریف کی جائے کم ہے جنھوں نے آسٹریلوی بیٹنگ کو اس صورتحال تک پہنچایا، اور ابراہیم زدران کے 129 ناٹ آؤٹ کی شاندار اننگز کو بھی سراہنا نہیں بھولنا چاہیے جنھوں نے افغانستان کے لیے ورلڈ کپ مقابلوں میں پہلی سنچری بنائی ہے۔ افغانستان نے آج ٹاس جیت کر پہلے بیٹنگ کرتے ہوئے مقررہ 50 اوورز میں 291 رنز بنا کر یہ یقینی بنایا تھا کہ آسٹریلیا کو اس ہدف کا تعاقب کرنے میں مشکلات کا سامنا کرنا پڑے گا لیکن پھر میکسویل ان کی راہ میں حائل ہو گئے۔سوشل میڈیا پر جہاں میکسویل کی اس اننگز کی تعریفیں ہو رہی تھیں وہیں پاکستانی مداح بھی اس میچ کو بڑے غور سے دیکھ رہے تھے کیونکہ آج افغانستان کی فتح کی صورت میں پاکستان کی سیمی فائنل تک رسائی مزید مشکل ہو جاتی۔ سوشل میڈیا پر ہر کوئی اس اننگز کی تعریف کر رہا ہے۔ میکسویل کی اننگز کے بارے میں بات کرتے ہوئے مظہر ارشد کا کہنا تھا کہ یہ ون ڈے کی تاریخ میں پہلی مرتبہ ہے کہ کسی بلے باز نے دوسری اننگز میں ڈبل سنچری بنائی ہے۔ یہ ایک شاندر اننگز تھی۔ صحافی عثمان سمیع الدین اور احمر نقوی کی جانب سے ٹویٹس میں آسٹریلیا کی جانب سے آخر تک ہمت نہ ہارنے کے نظریے کے بارے میں بات کی۔
احمر نقوی نے لکھا کہ ’ہم سب نے آسٹریلیا سے ایسی شکستوں کا مزہ چکھا ہے جس میں کوئی ایک کھلاڑی کھڑے کھڑے میچ جتوا دے۔ لیکن ایسا صرف ایسی صورتحال میں کرنا جب آپ صرف اپنے ہاتھ ہی ہلا سکتے ہوں، ایک عظیم کارنامہ ہے۔پاکستانی شائقین کرکٹ جو پاکستان کی سیمی فائنل تک رسائی کی امید لگائے بیٹھے ہیں نے کہا کہ یہ ’قدرت کے نظام کا حصہ تھا۔
