In the match played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, the Sri Lankan team could only score 293 runs for 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs in pursuit of a target of 300 runs. All-rounder Salman Ali Agha scored a magnificent unbeaten century against the Sri Lankan bowling line.
Salman Ali Agha scored a century off 83 balls with the help of 9 fours. He returned to the pavilion with 105 runs not out off 87 balls, this is his second century in ODI cricket. Mohammad Nawaz, who made a partnership of 66 runs with Salman Ali Agha for the sixth wicket, remained not out after scoring 36 runs. Among the other players, Hussain Talat with 62, Fakhar Zaman with 32 and Babar Azam with 29 runs were the prominent batsmen, while Saim Ayub scored 6 and Mohammad Rizwan scored 5 runs. Sri Lankan bowler Winanduhsaranga sent 3 Pakistani batsmen to the pavilion for 54 runs. In the first match of the 3-match series, Sri Lanka had won the toss against Pakistan and decided to field. Speaking on the occasion of the toss, national team captain Shaheen Shah Afridi had said that if we had won the toss, we would have fielded, we will try to do well in this series as well as in the previous series. Sri Lankan captain Cherith Asalanka said that we will try to play well in the series. راولپنڈی کرکٹ اسٹیدیم پر کھیلے گئے میچ میں سری لنکا کی ٹیم 300 رنز کے ہدف کے تعاقب میں مقررہ 50 اوورز میں 9 وکٹ پر293 رنز ہی بناسکی۔پاکستان کی طرف سے آل راؤنڈر سلمان علی آغا نے سری لنکن بولنگ لائن کے خلاف شاندار ناقابل شکست سنچری اسکور کی۔
سلمان علی آغا نے 83 گیندوں پر 9 چوکوں کی مدد سے سنچری بنائی، وہ 87 گیندوں پر 105 رنز کے ساتھ ناٹ آؤٹ پویلین لوٹے، یہ ان کی ایک روزہ کرکٹ کی دوسری سنچری ہے۔ چھٹی وکٹ پر سلمان علی آغا کے ساتھ 66 رنز کی شراکت بنانے والے محمد نواز 36 رنز بناکر ناٹ آؤٹ رہے۔ دیگر کھلاڑیوں میں حسین طلعت 62، فخر زمان 32 اور بابراعظم 29 رنز کے ساتھ نمایاں بیٹر تھے جبکہ صائم ایوب 6 اور محمد رضوان نے 5 رنز بنائے۔ سری لنکا کے بولر ونندوہسارانگا نے 54 رنز کے عوض 3 پاکستانی بیٹرز کو پویلین بھیجا۔ 3 میچز کی سیریز کے پہلے میچ میں سری لنکا نے پاکستان کے خلاف ٹاس جیت کر فیلڈنگ کا فیصلہ کیا تھا۔ ٹاس کے موقع پر گفتگو کرتے ہوئے قومی ٹیم کے کپتان شاہین شاہ آفریدی نے کہا تھا کہ ٹاس جیت کر ہم بھی فیلڈنگ ہی کرتے، ہم اس سیریز میں بھی پچھلی سیریز کی طرح اچھا کرنے کی کوشش کریں گے۔ سری لنکن کپتان چیریتھ اسالنکا نے کہا کہ ہم سیریز میں اچھا کھیل پیش کرنے کی کوشش کریں گے۔ پاکستان پلیئنگ الیون میں فخر زمان، صائم ایوب، بابر اعظم، محمد رضوان، سلمان علی آغا، حسین طلعت، محمد نواز، فہیم اشرف، نسیم شاہ، شاہین آفریدی اور حارث رؤف شامل ہیں۔ یاد رہے کہ دوسرا ون ڈے 13 نومبر جبکہ تیسرا 15 نومبر کو کھیلا جائے گا۔وفاقی وزیر داخلہ و چیئرمین پاکستان کرکٹ بورڈ (پی سی بی) محسن نقوی نے راولپنڈی کرکٹ اسٹیڈیم میں سیکیورٹی انتظامات کا معائنہ کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ سری لنکن کرکٹ ٹیم کو اسٹیٹ گیسٹ ا درجہ دیا گیا ہے۔ وفاقی وزیر داخلہ و چیئرمین پی سی بی محسن نقوی نے اسٹیڈیم میں جاری سری لنکا بمقابلہ پاکستان میچ کے لیے کیے گئے سیکیورٹی انتظامات کا تفصیلی جائزہ لیا۔ اس موقع پر محسن نقوی کا کہنا تھا کہ سری لنکن کرکٹ ٹیم کو اسٹیٹ گیسٹ کا درجہ دیا گیا ہے، مہمان ٹیم کی سیکیورٹی پر کسی قسم کا سمجھوتہ نہیں کیا جائے گا۔ چیئرمین پی سی بی نے کہا کہ امن و استحکام کے ساتھ ساتھ کھیلوں و دیگر سرگرمیوں کا فروغ ہمارامشترکہ مقصد ہے۔
واضح رہے کہ یہ دورہ ایسے وقت میں کیا گیا ہے کہ جب آج دوپہر اسلام آباد کے علاقے جی الیون میں کچہری کے باہر پولیس کی گاڑی پر خُودکش دھماکے کے نتیجے میں 12 افراد شہید اور 27 زخمی ہوگئے تھے۔
