Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation secretary Ijaz-ur-Rehman said while talking to media said, that total of 134 countries bowlers would be in action for the tenpin bowling most prestigious event, the event would be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
He said, the tournament held after every two years, 6 players would represent country in singles, doubles, trios and team event, which include, Ijaz-ur-Rehman, M. Hussain Chatha, Fazil Mania, Ahmer Abbas Saldera, Sultan Durrani and Umar Khalid, while Saqib Shahzad would accompany the team as manager, while PSB DG Dr Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera would be chef de mission.Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation secretary Ijaz-ur-Rehman saidIjaz further said, after inauguration of first ever bowling club of our own, now things are quite different, in the past we don’t have any club where we could practice and had to rely solely on private club, which was in very pathetic condition, but now I have established Leisure City Bowling Club for the players of twin cities, for the past 1-month the players are playing here and enjoying world’s latest equipped modern club facilities, which would help them a great deal in coming international events.When asked about chances of Pakistani players in the world cup, Ijaz replied, we have selected team, which had just won GCC Tenpin Bowling Championship 2014 in Dubai and they are fully prepared for the mega event, I am quite hopeful boys would perform well and attain respectable positions in all the categories.I am conducting amateur championship from today and also 8th national championship from 25th to 31st December in Islamabad, in which for the very first time in the history of Pakistan tenpin bowling services and other affiliated departments would take part, we would offer around Rs 1 million as cash purse.He said, it is quite hurting the parallel bodies have destroyed the image of Pakistan sports and inflicted heavy damages, national sports policy 2005 should be implemented without any further delays, number of federations including PFF, Volleyball, Cycling, Basketball are violating 2-term restriction and no body is there to seek explanation from them, they enjoy support of POA president, Lt Gen (R) Syed Arif Hassan, where as some parallel bodies were installed by Major General (R) M. Akram Sahi, which had brought huge embracement in sports circles and involved in unlawful activities.Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation secretary Ijaz-ur-Rehman said that Inter Provincial Coordination Minister Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, IPC secretary Ijaz Chaudhry and PSB DG Dr Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera to and above all Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to look into this matter of grave importance for the country and order clear instructions regarding banning such federations with immediate effect, we had long requested CDA to allocate a piece of land where we could construct a bowling club with international facilities, but the request is long pending, this club would ensure international sports revival in Pakistan, Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation secretary Ijaz-ur-Rehman requested CDA chairman to look into this issue and sanctioned the plot without any further delays.
