First position in the ODI ranking for the first time in Pakistan’s Cricket history……….Report, Asghar Ali Mubarak……………… After defeating New Zealand in the fourth ODI of Pakistan of five matches series , for the first time in the history of cricket, the national team came to the first place in the ranking of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Before the start of the series with New Zealand, New Zealand was second in the ICC ODI rankings while Pakistan was ranked 5th.
After the victory in the fourth ODI, Pakistan’s total rating points have reached 113.483, Australia’s rating points are 113.286, while India’s rating points are 112.638. Pakistan is currently leading Australia and India by decimal points, if Pakistan clean sweep New Zealand then its lead will be clear.
Pakistan’s fifth and final ODI against New Zealand will be played on May 7. If the national team is defeated by the Kiwis in the last ODI, it will fall to the third position in the ranking and the Australia will retain the first position.
It is the first time in the history of ICC rankings that Pakistan has secured the first position in the ODI rankings. It should be noted that the ICC’s official ODI ranking system was introduced in 2005.
The ICC’s ranking system, developed by British statistician David Kendricks, has been applied in the past to predict team positions.
It should be noted that since the publication of the ranking, Pakistan’s best position has been third. In the past, according to this formula, Pakistan was at the first position in the ODI ranking in 1991, but this position had no official status.
Earlier in the fourth ODI match of the series played at the National Stadium in Karachi yesterday, New Zealand won the toss for the second time in a row and invited Pakistan to bat first. Babar Azam’s brilliant batting, Pakistan defeated New Zealand by a huge margin of 102 runs in the fourth ODI match.

Captain Tom Latham and Daryl Mitchell then took the lead and pushed the team’s score forward, but Daryl Mitchell’s wicket of 34 for a total of 129 ended the partnership and the Kiwis suffered a heavy loss. Tom Latham batted well and scored a half-century but was caught out behind the wickets for individual scores of 60, leaving the visitors’ hopes of victory in tatters.
New Zealand’s other standout batsman was Mark Chapman who scored 46 runs, but after his dismissal for 201, the visitors started to fall wicket after wicket and were bowled out for 232 runs.
Thus, Pakistan won the match by a huge margin of 102 runs and took another step towards a clean sweep in the series and made their lead 0-4. On behalf of the national team, Osama Mir was the most successful bowler who dismissed 4 players to the pavilion, besides Muhammad Wasim 3, Haris Rauf 2 and Shaheen Shah Afridi dismissed one player. Captain Babar Azam was declared the best player of the match. Both the teams for the match consisted of these players.

پاکستان کی کرکٹ تاریخ میں پہلی بار ون ڈے رینکنگ میں پہلی پوزیشن……….رپورٹ، اصغر علی مبارک………………پانچ میچز کی سیریز کے چوتھے ون ڈے میچ میں نیوزی لینڈ کو شکست دینے کے بعد پاکستان کی کرکٹ تاریخ میں پہلی بار قومی ٹیم انٹرنیشنل کرکٹ کونسل (آئی سی سی) کی رینکنگ میں پہلے نمبر پر آ گئی۔
نیوزی لینڈ سے سیریز کے آغاز سے قبل آئی سی سی ون ڈے رینکنگ میں نیوزی لینڈ دوسری جبکہ پاکستان 5ویں نمبر پر تھا تاہم کیویز کے خلاف لگاتار 4 میچز میں کامیابی کے بعد پاکستان پہلے نمبر آگیا ہے اور نیوزی لینڈ پانچویں نمبر پر ہے۔
چوتھے ون ڈے میں فتح کے بعد پاکستان کے مجموعی ریٹنگ پوائنٹس 113.483 ہوگئے ہیں، آسٹریلیا کے ریٹنگ پوائنٹس 113.286 جبکہ انڈیا کے ریٹنگ پوائنٹس 112.638 ہیں۔ پاکستان فی الحال آسٹریلیا اور بھارت کے خلاف ڈیسیمل پوائنٹس پر آگے ہے، اگر پاکستان نیوزی لینڈ کو کلین سویپ کرلیتا ہے تو اس کی برتری واضح ہوجائے گی۔

آئی سی سی رینکنگ کی تاریخ میں پہلی بار ایسا ہوا کہ پاکستان نے ون ڈے رینکنگ میں پہلی پوزیشن حاصل کی ہے۔ یاد رہے کہ آئی سی سی کا آفیشل ون ڈے رینکنگ سسٹم 2005 میں متعارف کرایا گیا تھا۔
آئی سی سی کی رینکنگ کا طریقہ کار، اعداد و شمار کے برطانوی ماہر ڈیوڈ کینڈکس نے تیار کیا تھا، تیار کردہ فارمولے کو ماضی میں بھی اپلائی کیا گیا تھا تاکہ ٹیموں کی پوزیشنز کا اندازہ لگایا جاسکے۔
یاد رہے کہ رینکنگ کے اجراء کے بعد سے پاکستان کی بہترین پوزیشن تیسری رہی ہے۔ ماضی میں اس فارمولے کے مطابق پاکستان 1991 میں ون ڈے رینکنگ میں پہلی پوزیشن پر تھا لیکن اس پوزیشن کی کوئی آفیشل حیثیت نہیں تھی۔
گزشتہ روز کراچی کے نیشنل اسٹیڈیم میں کھیلے گئے سیریز کے چوتھے ون ڈے میچ میں نیوزی لینڈ نے لگاتار دوسری مرتبہ ٹاس جیت کر پہلے پاکستان کو بیٹنگ کی دعوت دی تھی۔ بابر اعظم کی شاندار بلے بازی, پاکستان نے چوتھے ون ڈے میچ میں نیوزی لینڈ کو 102 رنز کے بڑے مارجن سے شکست دے دی.
شاندار بلے بازی پر کپتان بابر اعظم کو میچ کا بہترین کھلاڑی قرار دیا گیا۔ کراچی کے نیشنل اسٹیڈیم میں کھیلے گئے سیریز کے چوتھے ون ڈے میچ میں نیوزی لینڈ نے لگاتار دوسری مرتبہ ٹاس جیت کر پہلے پاکستان کو بیٹنگ کی دعوت دی۔
پاکستان کی اننگز کا آغاز زیادہ متاثر کن نہ تھا اور سیریز میں دو سنچریاں اسکور کرنے والے اوپنر فخر زمان اس بار بڑا اسکور کرنے میں ناکام رہے اور 36 کے مجموعے پر 14 رنز بنا کر ہنری کا شکار بن گئے۔
اس کے بعد شان مسعود کا ساتھ دینے کپتان بابر اعظم کریز پر آئے اور دونوں نے ٹیم کا اسکور 86 رنز پر پہنچایا، اس موقع پر شان مسعود کریز سے باہر نکل کر شاٹ مارنے کی کوشش میں ناکام ہوتے ہوئے سودھی کا شکار بن گئے اور ان کی 44 رنز کی اننگز کا خاتمہ ہوگیا۔
وکٹ کیپر بلے باز محمد رضوان بھی بڑی اننگز کھیلنے میں ناکام رہے اور 24 رنز بنانے کے بعد رن آؤٹ ہوکر پویلین لوٹ گئے، اس وقت پاکستان کا اسکور 128 رنز تھا۔
اس کے بعد بابر اعظم اور آغا سلمان نے مزید کوئی وکٹ نہ گرنے دی اور عمدہ شراکت قائم کرتے ہوئے ٹیم کا اسکور 245 رنز پر پہنچایا، اس دوران دونوں کھلاڑیوں نے اپنی نصف سنچریاں مکمل کیں
۔تاہم پھر 58 رنز بنانے والے آغا سلمان کی ہمت جواب دے گئی اور فاسٹ باؤلر ہنری کو ہی کیچ دے بیٹھے۔
دوسری جانب بابر اعظم نے شاندار بلے بازی جاری رکھی اور ٹیم کو بڑے اسکور تک پہنچانے کی راہ ہموار کی، بابر نے بہترین پرفارمنس کا مظاہرہ کرتے ہوئے 10 چوکوں سے مزین ایک اور سنچری اسکور کی اور 107 رنز بنا کر آؤٹ ہوئے۔پاکستان نے مقرر اوورز میں 6 وکٹوں کے نقصان پر 334 رنز بنائے جس میں افتخار احمد کے 28، محمد حارث کے 17 اور شاہین شاہ آفریدی کے 23 رنز بھی شامل ہیں۔
نیوزی لینڈ کی جانب سے میٹ ہنری نے 3 وکٹیں حاصل کیں جبکہ اش سودھی اور بین لسٹر نے ایک، ایک کھلاڑی کو آؤٹ کیا۔ ہدف کے تعاقب میں کیویز کا آغاز اچھا نہ تھا اور اس کے دونوں اوپنرز 46 رنز پر پویلین لوٹ چکے تھے۔ وِل ینگ 15 اور ٹام بلنڈل 23 رنز بنا کر کیچ آؤٹ ہوئے۔
اس کے بعد کپتان ٹام لیتھم اور ڈیرل مچل نے مورچہ سنبھالا اور ٹیم کے اسکور کو آگے بڑھایا لیکن 129 کے مجموعے پر 34 رنز بنانے والے ڈیرل مچل کی وکٹ نے یہ شراکت ختم کردی اور کیوی ٹیم کو بڑا نقصان پہنچا۔ ٹام لیتھم نے عمدہ بیٹنگ کا مظاہرہ کیا اور نصف سنچری مکمل کی لیکن 60 کے انفرادی اسکور پروکٹوں کے پیچھے کیچ آؤٹ ہوگئے، جس سے مہمان ٹیم کی فتح کی امیدیں ماند پڑنا شروع ہوگئی۔
نیوزی لینڈ کی ٹیم کے دوسرے نمایاں بلے باز مارک چیپمین تھے جنہوں نے 46 رنز بنائے، لیکن 201 کے مجموعی اسکور پر ان کے آؤٹ ہونے کے بعد مہمان ٹیم کی ایک کے بعد دیگرے وکٹ گرنا شروع ہوگئی اور پوری ٹیم 232 رنز پر ڈھیڑ ہوگئی۔
یوں پاکستان نے میچ میں 102 رنز کے بڑے مارجن سے فتح حاصل کرنے کے ساتھ ساتھ سیریز میں کلین سوئپ کی طرف ایک اور قدم بڑھا لیا اور اپنی برتری کو 0-4 کرلیا۔ قومی ٹیم کی جانب سے اسامہ میر سب سے کامیاب باؤلر رہے جنہوں نے 4 کھلاڑیوں کو پویلین کی راہ دکھائی، ان کے علاوہ محمد وسیم نے 3، حارث رؤف نے 2 اور شاہین شاہ آفریدی نے ایک کھلاڑی کو آؤٹ کیا۔شاندار بلے بازی پر قومی کپتان بابر اعظم کو میچ کا بہترین کھلاڑی قرار دیا گیا۔ میچ کے لیے دونوں ٹیمیں ان کھلاڑیوں پر مشتمل تھیں۔
