Talking to media  Hanif Abbasi  on other day said that  the “Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif is providing best international level sports facelifts for the  peoples of Rawalpindi.He said that the   vision  of  a  healthy  and sports culture  in Rawalpindi is  top  priority  Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif. Chief Minister Punjab Mian M Shahbaz Sharif’ allocate Rs 350 million  for  different sports-related projects in Rawalpindi .
The sportsmen of Rawalpindi  have  now two state-of-the-art cricket stadiums fully equipped with floodlights, dressing rooms, changing rooms, first aid room and international standard facilities a government  Muslim high school Rawalpindi and  women cricket stadium at government viqar  un nisa college Rawalpindi. . Work on Muslim High School Cricket Stadium and Jamia High School Cricket Stadium is in final stages and soon after completion of the stadiums, flood lights will be installed with the help of Philips company. He further said  to construct separate stadium for female players at Viqar-un-Nisa Girls College, Tipu Road Rawalpindi. “Floodlights at Jamia High School would cost Rs 25 million. The stadium is constructed at 33 kanals, while floodlights installation at Muslim High School Stadium will also cost same amount of money. Although the covered area is a bit shorter than the international venues, but it will provide perfect stage for the bidding youngsters of the twin-cities to learn cricket under the guidance of, Sohail Tanvir and other Test cricketers of the region,” he added. H said “in the past, there was no heed paid on maintenance of sports facilities, but this time, I ensure the facilities will be properly look after under the five-member committee, which also have a senior sports journalist as its member,” he elaborated. “I was especially called on by Hamza Shahbaz in Lahore and given a task of constructing a world-class swimming pool in Rawalpindi, where international competitions could be held under international standards. I visited different universities and school in this regard, but after taking a number of things in account, I finally decided to construct swimming pool on 40 kanal adjacent to Benazir Bhutto Hospital on main Rowel Road as the venue is perfect for not only swimming pool, but also for volleyball court. Special funds of Rs 150 million were already allocated in this regard and the work on the site will be started soon after the metro bus project work finishes from the site,” he asserted. M Hanif Abbasi said  a committee is  formed to keep close check and balance, ensuring deserving players are not deprived of their basic rights and also keep all the facilities in up-to-date condition. I will also take on board District Coordination Officer to ensure free and fair utilization of facilities, proper maintenance and up-gradation of all the facilities time-to-time.” “My doors are always open for sports persons and organizers and all the concerned persons, who want to work for the promotion of sports in the region.,” Abbasi concluded.
