Rawalpindi: Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir visited Lahore today. COAS laid floral wreath at Martyrs’ Monument and paid rich tribute to the Shuhada who sacrificed their lives for the motherland.
COAS was given briefing on events of 9th May (Black Day). COAS also visited Jinnah House and an Army installation which were blatantly attacked and vandalized by politically motivated rioters.
While addressing the Garrison officers and soldiers at Corps Headquarters, COAS said that legal process of trial against planners, instigators, abettors and perpetrators involved in 9 May tragedy has commenced under Pakistan Army Act and Official Secret Act as per existing and established legal procedures derived from the Constitution of Pakistan.
COAS emphasized that “Army draws its strength from people and any effort to create wedge between the Army and the people of Pakistan is an act against the State which is neither tolerable nor condonable under any circumstances.
“Hostile and inimical forces and their abettors have been trying hard to create confusion through fake news and propaganda but all such designs of the enemy will be defeated with the support of the nation, InshAllah.”
Later, COAS also visited Services Hospital Lahore and inquired about the well being of DIG Ali Nasir Rizvi who was injured by political miscreants during 9th May incident.
COAS also visited Qurban Lines and met with police officials. COAS paid homage to Shuhada of Police, appreciated the professionalism and restraint exercised by them during the riots/vandalism and assured Army’s full support to the LEAs for their capacity enhancement, intelligence sharing and training.
Earlier on arrival, COAS was received by Commander Lahore Corps.

راولپنڈی،: آرمی چیف جنرل سید عاصم منیر نے آج لاہور کا دورہ کیا۔
سی او اے ایس نے شہداء کی یادگار پر پھولوں کی چادر چڑھائی اور مادر وطن کے لیے جانیں قربان کرنے والے شہدا کو زبردست خراج عقیدت پیش کیا۔
آرمی چیف کو 9 مئی (یوم سیاہ) کے واقعات پر بریفنگ دی گئی۔ سی او اے ایس نے جناح ہاؤس اور فوج کی ایک تنصیب کا بھی دورہ کیا جس پر سیاسی طور پر حوصلہ افزائی کرنے والے فسادیوں نے حملہ کیا اور توڑ پھوڑ کی۔
کور ہیڈ کوارٹرز میں گیریژن افسران اور سپاہیوں سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے، آرمی چیف نے کہا کہ سانحہ 9 مئی میں ملوث منصوبہ سازوں، اکسانے والوں، حوصلہ افزائی کرنے والوں اور مجرموں کے خلاف مقدمے کا قانونی عمل پاکستان آرمی ایکٹ اور آفیشل سیکرٹ ایکٹ کے تحت شروع ہو چکا ہے۔ پاکستان کا آئین
آرمی چیفنے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ “فوج اپنی طاقت عوام سے حاصل کرتی ہے اور فوج اور پاکستان کے عوام کے درمیان دراڑ پیدا کرنے کی کوئی بھی کوشش ریاست کے خلاف ایک ایسا عمل ہے جو کسی بھی حالت میں نہ تو قابل برداشت ہے اور نہ ہی قابل معافی ہے۔
دشمن اور دشمن قوتیں اور ان کے حامی جعلی خبروں اور پروپیگنڈے کے ذریعے انتشار پھیلانے کی بھرپور کوشش کر رہے ہیں لیکن دشمن کے ایسے تمام عزائم کو قوم کے تعاون سے ناکام بنایا جائے گا، انشاء اللہ۔
بعد ازاں آرمی چیف نے سروسز ہسپتال لاہور کا بھی دورہ کیا اور ڈی آئی جی علی ناصر رضوی کی خیریت دریافت کی جو 9 مئی کے واقعے میں سیاسی شرپسندوں کے ہاتھوں زخمی ہوئے تھے۔
آرمی چیف نے قربان لائنز کا بھی دورہ کیا اور پولیس حکام سے ملاقات کی۔ آرمی چیف نے پولیس کے شہدا کو خراج عقیدت پیش کیا،
