On this landmark occasion, Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi, former captain Ramiz Raja, legendary fan Chacha Cricket, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz recipient Abdul Mohi Shah, and other leading sports journalists were honored with ‘Special Milestone Excellence Awards.’According to the details, the simple yet highly impressive and historic event paid tribute to personalities who have rendered invaluable services to both the field of play and sports journalism. Organized under the leadership of SASJA Founder President Asghar Ali Mubarak, the ceremony featured the distribution of commemorative shields and excellence milestone awards among prominent cricket personalities and media professionals. Former Pakistan captain, 1992 World Cup winner, and world-renowned cricket commentator Ramiz Raja graced the ceremony as the chief guest.During the event, special shields were presented to Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi, Ramiz Raja, and Chacha Cricket in recognition of their exceptional services in promoting Pakistan cricket on the global stage. This award was presented in recognition of his extraordinary, lifelong contributions to sports journalism and to celebrate the prestigious civil honor, ‘Tamgha-i-Imtiaz,’ recently conferred upon him by the Government of Pakistan. سابق چیئرمین پی سی بی اور مایہ ناز کمنٹیٹر رمیز راجہ کو کرکٹ ورلڈ میں پاکستان کا نام روشن کرنے پر خصوصی شیلڈ پیش کی گئی۔پاکستان کرکٹ کے عالمی سطح پر سفیر اور دنیا بھر میں سبز ہلالی پرچم لہرانے والے مشہورِ زمانہ ‘چاچا کرکٹ’ کو بھی ان کی طویل ترین اور بے لوث خدمات پر خصوصی یادگاری شیلڈسے نوازا گیا۔
عبدالمحی شاہ کے لیے خصوصی ایکسیلنس ایوارڈتقریب کا سب سے اہم اور یادگار لمحہ پاکستان کے ممتاز اور سینئر ترین اسپورٹس جرنلسٹ عبدالمحی شاہ کو خصوصی ایکسیلنس ایوارڈ اور یادگاری شیلڈ پیش کرنا تھا۔
یہ ایوارڈ کھیل کی صحافت میں ان کی عمر بھر کی غیر معمولی خدمات اور حکومت پاکستان کی جانب سے ان کے لیے حالیہ سول اعزاز ‘تمغہ امتیاز’ کے اعتراف کی خوشی میں دیا گیا۔
اس موقع پر مہمانِ خصوصی رمیز راجہ نے کرکٹ کے فروغ، کھیلوں کی ترویج اور پاکستان کی کھیلوں کی تاریخ کو دستاویزی شکل دینے میں اسپورٹس جرنلسٹ عبدالمحی شاہ کے شاندار اور تاریخی کردار کو بھرپور الفاظ میں سراہا۔
خصوصی ایوارڈ وصول کرنے کے بعد گفتگو کرتے ہوئے ممتاز صحافی عبدالمحی شاہ نے پوری صحافی برادری کا تہہ دل سے شکریہ ادا کیا اور جذباتی انداز میں کہا: ’’یہ ایوارڈ صرف میرا نہیں بلکہ آپ سب کا ہے، یہ پوری صحافی برادری کی محنت کا اعتراف ہے۔‘‘ تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے راولپنڈی اسلام آباد اسپورٹس جرنلسٹس ایسوسی ایشن کے صدر ابوبکر بن طلعت نے صحافتی خدمات پر عبدالمحی شاہ کو ‘تمغہ امتیاز’ سول ایوارڈ دینے پر حکومت پاکستان کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔سسجا (SASJA) کے بانی صدر اصغر علی مبارک نے اپنے خطاب میں کہا کہ اسپورٹس جرنلسٹس دنیا بھر میں پاکستان کے سافٹ امیج کا اصل چہرہ ہیں اور دوسروں کے لیے بہترین نمونہ ہیں۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ اسپورٹس جرنلسٹس ہمارے عزم، محنت اور احترام کا اصل مظہر ہیں۔اصغر علی مبارک نے اپنے خطاب میں محمد انیس، عمران نعیم احمد، مخدوم بابر,فرحانہ ایاز خان،,مرحوم قمر سعید زیدی، مرحوم سید مصلح الدین، مرحوم فاروق مظہر، مرحوم صوفی محمد رفیق، مرحوم امان اللہ خان، مرحوم محمد شریف خان فیروزپوری، مرحوم مقصود احمد، جیسے صحافیوں کو خراج عقیدت پیش کیا۔
