Pakistan is trying to bring US and Iran back to Islamabad Agreement. Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi says that Pakistan is closely monitoring the current security situation in the Gulf, Red Sea and Strait of Hormuz. He made it clear that only diplomacy and negotiations are the only solution for lasting peace in the region.
Reiterating Pakistan’s policy on important regional and international issues during a weekly press briefing in Islamabad, Tahir Andrabi said that “Pakistan is making continuous diplomatic efforts to revive technical talks between Iran and the US and implement the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.” Pakistan is trying to ensure that all parties come back to the negotiating table as per the ‘Islamabad MoU’ and the Pakistan-Qatar Joint Declaration of June 22, 2026, so that maritime trade in the Red Sea and Strait of Hormuz can be ensured in accordance with the law.
Giving details of the high-level diplomatic exchanges, the spokesperson said that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar contacted Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan in recent days, while diplomatic contacts were also established with the Jordanian Foreign Minister and the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister. He said that “Pakistan strongly condemns all attacks on Saudi Arabia and Saudi Arabia has the full right to defend itself.” He made it clear that the conflict between Iran and the US should not spread to any third country. Explaining the defense agreement with Kuwait, he said that “this agreement was signed in 2023, which is a continuation of the cooperation that has been going on since the 1980s and is different in nature from the strategic cooperation with Saudi Arabia, however, Pakistan will abide by all its defense agreements.” Responding to a question about the documentary made by the German broadcaster DW on the nuclear program, the Foreign Office spokesperson rejected it outright and said, “The film attempts to spread misconceptions through one-sided and unverified information. DW should uphold basic journalistic values.” He stressed that “Pakistan has complete confidence in its comprehensive nuclear command and control system, which is safe and effective in accordance with international standards.” He also described the Indian government’s restrictions on Pakistani social media accounts as a manifestation of intolerance and condemned the Indian Defense Minister’s statement on Kargil, saying, “A plebiscite is the only recognized solution to the Kashmir issue under United Nations resolutions.” Talking about Afghanistan, the spokesperson denied the allegations of civilian casualties and said, “The terrorists in Afghanistan do not wear any special uniforms, Pakistan’s actions are only against terrorists and their hideouts.” He also clarified that no Afghan nationals with legal documents were deported. Invitations will be sent to all member states, including India, as the host, for the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) summit to be held in Pakistan next year. He confirmed that Pakistan has issued visas to Sikh pilgrims in large numbers, while the issuance of diplomatic visas between Pakistan and India is an administrative process.

طاہر اندرابی نے کہا کہ ”پاکستان ایران اور امریکا کے درمیان تکنیکی مذاکرات کی بحالی اور اسلام آباد مفاہمتی یادداشت پر عملدرآمد کے لیے مسلسل سفارتی کوششیں کر رہا ہے“۔ پاکستان کی کوشش ہے کہ تمام فریقین ’اسلام آباد ایم او یو‘ اور 22 جون 2026 کے پاکستان-قطر مشترکہ اعلامیے کے مطابق دوبارہ بات چیت کی میز پر آئیں تاکہ بحیرہ احمر اور آبنائے ہرمز میں قانون کے مطابق بحری تجارت کو یقینی بنایا جا سکے۔
ترجمان نے اعلیٰ سطح کی سفارتی رفت و آمد کی تفصیلات بتاتے ہوئے کہا کہ نائب وزیراعظم و وزیرِ خارجہ اسحاق ڈار نے حالیہ دنوں میں سعودی وزیرِ خارجہ شہزادہ فیصل بن فرحان سے رابطہ کیا، جبکہ اردن کے وزیرِ خارجہ اور کویت کے وزیرِ خارجہ سے بھی سفارتی روابط قائم کیے گئے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ”پاکستان سعودی عرب پر ہونے والے تمام حملوں کی شدید مذمت کرتا ہے اور سعودی عرب کو اپنے دفاع کا مکمل حق حاصل ہے“۔ انہوں نے واضح کیا کہ ایران اور امریکا کے درمیان تنازع کسی تیسرے ملک تک نہیں پھیلنا چاہیے۔ کویت کے ساتھ دفاعی معاہدے کی وضاحت کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے کہا کہ ”یہ معاہدہ 2023 میں طے پایا تھا جو 1980 کی دہائی سے جاری تعاون کا تسلسل ہے اور یہ سعودی عرب کے ساتھ اسٹریٹیجک تعاون سے مختلف نوعیت کا ہے، تاہم پاکستان اپنے تمام دفاعی معاہدوں کی پاسداری کرے گا“۔ جرمن نشریاتی ادارے ’ڈی ڈبلیو‘ کی ایٹمی پروگرام پر بنائی گئی دستاویزی فلم سے متعلق سوال کا جواب دیتے ہوئے ترجمان دفترِ خارجہ نے اسے یکسر مسترد کر دیا اور کہا کہ ”اس فلم میں یکطرفہ اور غیر مصدقہ معلومات کے ذریعے غلط فہمیاں پھیلانے کی کوشش کی گئی ہے، ڈی ڈبلیو کو بنیادی صحافتی اقدار کی پاسداری کرنی چاہیے“۔ انہوں نے زور دیا کہ ”پاکستان کو اپنے جامع ایٹمی کمانڈ اینڈ کنٹرول سسٹم پر کامل اعتماد ہے جو عالمی معیار کے عین مطابق محفوظ اور مؤثر ہے“۔ اس کے ساتھ ہی انہوں نے بھارتی حکومت کی جانب سے پاکستانی سوشل میڈیا اکاؤنٹس پر پابندیوں کو عدم برداشت کا مظہر قرار دیا اور بھارتی وزیرِ دفاع کے کارگل سے متعلق بیان کی مذمت کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ”اقوام متحدہ کی قراردادوں کے تحت استصوابِ رائے ہی مسئلہ کشمیر کا واحد تسلیم شدہ حل ہے“۔ افغانستان کے حوالے سے بات کرتے ہوئے ترجمان نے سویلین ہلاکتوں کے الزامات کی تردید کی اور کہا کہ ”افغانستان میں موجود دہشت گرد کوئی خاص یونیفارم نہیں پہنتے، پاکستان کی کارروائیاں صرف دہشت گردوں اور ان کے ٹھکانوں کے خلاف ہوتی ہیں“۔ یہ بھی واضح کیا کہ قانونی دستاویزات رکھنے والے کسی بھی افغان شہری کو ڈی پورٹ نہیں کیا گیا۔ پاکستان میں آئندہ سال ہونے والے ایس سی او (شنگھائی تعاون تنظیم) سربراہ اجلاس کے لیے بطور میزبان بھارت سمیت تمام رکن ممالک کو دعوت نامے بھیجے جائیں گے۔ انہوں نے تصدیق کی کہ پاکستان نے سکھ یاتریوں کو بڑی تعداد میں ویزے جاری کیے ہیں جبکہ پاک بھارت سفارتی ویزوں کا اجرا ایک انتظامی نوعیت کا عمل ہے۔
