Pakistan Cricket Board Annual General Meeting 2016 Held Stakeholders from across the country share views, give feedback By; Asghar Ali Mubarak Islamabad-With the stakeholders from all over the country in attendance, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2016 was held here at a five-star hotel on Thursday held at Lahore with Chairman PCB Shaharyar Mohammad Khan presiding over it. Also present on the occasion were Chairman of PCB’s Executive Committee Mr. Najam Sethi, COO Mr. Subhan Ahmad, CFO Mr. Badar Manzoor as well as the entire top and upper tier management of the Board.The Chairman Shaharyar Khan briefed the general body members about the Board’s efforts in bringing international cricket back to Pakistan, which resulted in organizing series against Afghanistan, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh Women’s Team. Above all, he informed the participants on the successful holding of the Pakistan Super League in the UAE. Chairman PCB in his address to the Annual General Meeting had urged the regional presidents to promote school cricket. He emphasized that coaches had a very important role to play and the Board would try to send level four coaches to different districts. AGM passed the unanimous resolution stating that government interference in the internal affairs of PCB was not acceptable because it violated the democratic PCB constitution sanctioned and approved by the Supreme Court of Pakistan and International Cricket Council (ICC). Chairman PCB Executive Committee Najam Sethi, informed the AGM that PSL was a huge financial success for PCB and the franchises were also happy that the value of their assets had increased substantially. He explained that PSL profits were substantially higher than projected. PCB’s ‘sponsorship initiative in the PSL had also drawn dividends for regional cricket’, which has started to benefit cricket at the domestic level. Now we plan to broaden our PSL perspective by adding more sponsors and try to hold a couple of matches in Pakistan. Najam Sethi also said, the Board would look into the participant’s grievances and try to solve in a specific time period. With COO Subhan Ahmad moderating the AGM, subsequently minutes of the last meeting were approved, Annual Report 2014-15 came under discussion and the house unanimously accepted it. Having met the stringent PCB criteria, in accordance with constitution’s Article 20, the AGM also recommended affiliation and playing rights to Panjgur District. Chairman PCB especially assured members from FATA, Balochistan, and AJK of doing everything in the Board’s power to facilitate promotion of cricket in their respective regions. In the end all members were given an opportunity to dilate upon their views, suggestions and proposals and air their grievances. Chairman Shaharyar Khan and COO Subhan Ahmad assured the general body members that each one of the suggestions had been faithfully recorded and also that this feedback shall be given a sympathetic consideration in order to promote cricket across the country.

Justice (Retd) Ali Nawaz Chohan Justice (Retd) Ali Nawaz Chohan urges govt and private organizations to work for welfare of Thar children under corporate social responsibility. By.Asghar Ali Mubarak Islamabad: The Chairman National Commission for Human Rights, Justice (Retd) Ali Nawaz Chohan has said government of Sindh and its departments of Health, Education and local administration were made accountable for Thar tragedy. Presenting a report on the Thar calamity in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said, in Thar, the problems of food and water should be solved. He said the water policy of Reserve Osmosis needed to be reviewed besides the system of distribution of free wheat. The chairman asked the provincial government for appointment of dedicated medical staff, substitution of the present unconcerned District Health Officer and financial audit of funds allocated for education. The commission further recommended immediate transfer of funds of local administration who are doing no service to the suffering people. The Federal Special Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Govt. of Pakistan Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui was the chief guest at the opening ceremony .He declared the championship open in very colorful atmosphere. Dr. Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera, Director General, Pakistan sports Board, Mudassar Arain, President, Pakistan netball Federation, Malik Sameen Khan VP, PNF, Uzma Umer VP, PNF, Muhammad Riaz Secretary, PNF, Azam Dar, Director (NF) Pakistan Sports Board and other dignities were also present on this occasion. Journalists from Afghanistan Media attended Pakistan Hockey Federation headquarters in Lahore on 12th April 2016. The group of journalists was invited through an exchange program by Pakistan Federation of Journalists. The group was briefed by Director General Pakistan Hockey Federation, Brig. (r) Musarrat Ullah Khan who explained the history and establishment of Pakistan Hockey Federation and its prominent initiatives in world hockey. Brig. (r) Musarrat Ullah Khan also explained that Pakistan introduced the hockey world cup in 1971 and Champion’s trophy in 1979, since then hockey has grasped its roots all over the world. Answering a question, DG-PHF explained that due to the challenging economic factors, talented players are steering away from hockey and pursuing more economically favorable career paths. Pakistan hockey has not been able to keep up with the ever changing technology, because of which players have not been able to update their knowledge and skill base in line with more developed international teams. Brig. (r) Musarrat then shared a visionary strategic plan that promises to develop and rejuvenate field hockey across the board in Pakistan. Cool & Cool presents Haier Pakistan Cup 2016, top 75 players to represent four provinces and Islamabad By.Asghar Ali Mubarak Islamabad: The Player Draft for the Cool & Cool presents Haier Pakistan Cup 2016 was held today as teams for the premier domestic 50-over tournament were finalized. 15-member squads for ZIC Islamabad, Brighto Paints Balochistan, Boom Boom Bubble Gum Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Inverex Sindh and Cookania Cake Rusk Punjab were finalized after the team captains and coaches participated in the Player Draft. Led by Pakistan’s Test captain Misbah ul Haq, ZIC Islamabad will include Mohammad Sami, Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Irfan, Nasir Jamshed, Zafar Gohar and Sharjeel Khan. The team will be coached by Mansoor Rana and Sabih Azhar. Brighto Paints Balochistan will be led by Pakistan ODI skipper Azhar Ali. The team includes Babar Azam, Junaid Khan, Umar Akmal, Saeed Ajmal, Sohail Tanvir, Umar Gul and Bilawal Bhatti. Ijaz Ahmed and Taimur Azam will coach the Balochistan side. Boom Boom Bubble Gum Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be led by star batsman Younus Khan. Encapuslating the true spirit of the Pakistan Cup, Khan’s selection for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa side include promising cricketers Mohammad Asghar, Fakhar Zaman, Musaddiq Ahmed, Zohaib Khan and Faheem Ashraf. Pakistani leg-spinner Yasir Shah will mark a return to competitive cricket as he prepares himself to play for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the domestic One Day tournament. Abdul Rehman and Kabir Khan will coach the KP side. Inverex Sindh will be captained by newly-appointed national T20 skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed. Left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir was the first pick made by Sarfaraz. The team also includes Sohail Khan, Khalid Latif, Sohaib Maqsood, Fawad Alam, Imad Wasim, Anwar Ali and Sami Aslam. Tauseef Ahmed and Iqbal Imam will coach the Sindh team. Cookania Cake Rusk Punjab will be led by star all-rounder Shoaib Malik. Malik’s squad includes left-handed opening batsmen Shan Masood and Salman Butt. Mohammad Rizwan, Asad Shafiq, Zulfiqar Babar, Ehsan Adil and Saad Nasim will also play for Punjab in the tournament. The team will be coached by former Pakistan wicket-keeper Atiq uz Zaman and Mautashim Rashid. Chairman PCB Shaharyar M. Khan, Chairman Executive Committee Najam Sethi, COO PCB Subhan Ahmad and CEO Haier Pakistan Javed Afridi were also present at the occasion. Speaking about this new initiative, Chairman Shaharyar Khan said: “Our aim is to ensure that our domesic cricket becomes more competitive and the Cool & Cool presents Haier Pakistan Cup 2016 is a key step on this journey. Top cricketers of Pakistan will take part in this tournament and the youngsters will have the perfect opportunity to learn from their seniors.” The pick order for the Draft was determined through a draw conducted by Chairman Executive Committee Najam Sethi. “After successfully organizing PSL, we need to further improve our domestic cricket. Player remunerations for this tournament have been increased by 100% and introducing the Player Draft in a domestic One Day tournament has generated immense interest from the public,” he stated. CEO Haier Pakistan Javed Afridi reiterated Haier Pakistan’s commitment towards both, international and domestic cricket: “Haier’s name in Pakistan is synonymous with cricket. Pakistan Cricket Board Annual General Meeting 2016 Held Stakeholders from across the country share views, give feedback By; Asghar Ali Mubarak Islamabad-With the stakeholders from all over the country in attendance, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2016 was held here at a five-star hotel on Thursday held at Lahore with Chairman PCB Shaharyar Mohammad Khan presiding over it. Also present on the occasion were Chairman of PCB’s Executive Committee Mr. Najam Sethi, COO Mr. Subhan Ahmad, CFO Mr. Badar Manzoor as well as the entire top and upper tier management of the Board.The Chairman Shaharyar Khan briefed the general body members about the Board’s efforts in bringing international cricket back to Pakistan, which resulted in organizing series against Afghanistan, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh Women’s Team. Above all, he informed the participants on the successful holding of the Pakistan Super League in the UAE. Chairman PCB in his address to the Annual General Meeting had urged the regional presidents to promote school cricket. He emphasized that coaches had a very important role to play and the Board would try to send level four coaches to different districts. AGM passed the unanimous resolution stating that government interference in the internal affairs of PCB was not acceptable because it violated the democratic PCB constitution sanctioned and approved by the Supreme Court of Pakistan and International Cricket Council (ICC). Chairman PCB Executive Committee Najam Sethi, informed the AGM that PSL was a huge financial success for PCB and the franchises were also happy that the value of their assets had increased substantially. He explained that PSL profits were substantially higher than projected. PCB’s ‘sponsorship initiative in the PSL had also drawn dividends for regional cricket’, which has started to benefit cricket at the domestic level. Now we plan to broaden our PSL perspective by adding more sponsors and try to hold a couple of matches in Pakistan. Najam Sethi also said, the Board would look into the participant’s grievances and try to solve in a specific time period. With COO Subhan Ahmad moderating the AGM, subsequently minutes of the last meeting were approved, Annual Report 2014-15 came under discussion and the house unanimously accepted it. Having met the stringent PCB criteria, in accordance with constitution’s Article 20, the AGM also recommended affiliation and playing rights to Panjgur District. Chairman PCB especially assured members from FATA, Balochistan, and AJK of doing everything in the Board’s power to facilitate promotion of cricket in their respective regions. In the end all members were given an opportunity to dilate upon their views, suggestions and proposals and air their grievances. Chairman Shaharyar Khan and COO Subhan Ahmad assured the general body members that each one of the suggestions had been faithfully recorded and also that this feedback shall be given a sympathetic consideration in order to promote cricket across the country.

Founder President Diplomatic Correspondent of Pakistan, Asghar Ali Mubarak along with the German Ambassador to Pakistan H.E.Ms. Ina Lepel,during the visit of parliament house on Monday at joint session.
