Special Olympians meet Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif Pakistan concluded the Loss Angeles Special Olympics 2015 with total 52 medals including 14 gold medals By; Asghar Ali Mubarak RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on other day met with eight members of the Pakistani team who brought international acclaim for the country in the Special Olympics held in Los Angeles U.S.A. The eight member team of players returned with a rich haul of medals by winning 3 Gold, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze in various events. According to an ISPR press release, COAS while appreciating the performance of Pakistani athletes in Special Olympics said that our youth is full of talent and the entire nation is proud of its future heroes who took this daunting challenge and overcame all barriers to keep the “Green” flag high due to their outstanding performance and commitment in different sports events. It may be mentioned that a total of around 6,500 athletes from 177 countries participated in these games. Pakistan concluded Loss Angeles Special Olympics 2015 with total 52 medals including 14 gold medals. “All credit goes to Pakistan special Olympians for bringing great honors for the country,Pakistani athletes Special Olympics stated. Pakistani Special athletes Jahanzaid and Mehmoona clinched gold medal for Pakistan and also won gold medal after beating their opponents in their respective single games on last day of games. Pakistan’s basketball team also grabbed silver medal in Olympic Games. Pakistan’s Special Olympians showed impressive game throughout the competition and also showed talent to the world. Total 55 Pakistan special Olympians participated in the Loss Angeles World Games 2015.
