Senior sports journalist Amjad Aziz Malik re-elected president of Pakistan Sports Writers Federation.

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s seasoned sports journalist Amjad Aziz Malik has been re-elected as the president of Pakistan Sports Writers Federation for the next term of 2022 to 2026. While Muhammad Asghar Azim, a sports journalist from Karachi, will be the Secretary General. The election was held in Peshawar under the three-member election committee headed by Nader Khawaja while Ejaz Rashid and Nasr Iqbal were the other members. Meanwhile Mr. Niranjan Rajbanshi, Treasurer of AIPS Asia, from Nepal participated as an observer. All office bearers were elected unanimously unopposed. It must be noted here that Amjad Aziz Malik is one of the leading journalists of Pakistan. He has rendered his excellent services for the promotion of journalism in the country. Amjad Aziz Malik started his journalistic career in 1982, especially in the field of journalism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He worked with the Daily Imrooz, Daily Hurriyet and monthly newspaper Akhbar Watan. He Joined Pakistan’s first news channel Geo News in 2002 and worked till 2014. He rendered valuable services in every walk of life, especially during terrorism, bravery performed his duty with exemplary coverage. Amjad Aziz Malik was also the Resident Editor of Daily Express in Peshawar from 2014 to 2017 and now a days Amjad Aziz Malik is the Chief Editor of Daily Kasooti Peshawar.
Amjad Aziz Malik holds the unique honor of covering the Olympics Games, Commonwealth Games, SAF Games, Islamic Games, Indoor Asian Games, Special Olympics Games and Paralympics Games. Amjad Aziz Malik has recently been elected as the Secretary General of the Asian Federation of Sports Journalists (AIPS, ASIA) for the third time and has also been a member of the Executive Committee of the Asian Sports Journalists Federation (AIPS) since 2012.
Amjad Aziz Malik declared ‘’ Best Commentator of Radio Pakistan’’ by commentating 268 international hockey matches. During his 40-year journalistic career, Amjad Aziz Malik wrote five thousand features, articles and columns in print media. Amjad Aziz Malik is the one and only journalist of Pakistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who has written 17 books, more than 5000 articles and columns, 300 research papers, 50 brochures and others magazines.
