Islamabad—-The open trials and selection for Pakistan Women Kabaddi Team (Asian Style) will held at 09 November 2015 at 1200hrs at Jinnah Stadium, Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad. Pakistan Women Kabaddi Team (Asian Style) will participate in 12th SAF Games (Asian Style) at Guwahati (India) from
06 to 16 February 2016.For selection of a strong team National Women Kabaddi Team for participation in 12th SAF Games (Asian Style) at Guwahati India event,the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation is conducting Open Trials on 09 November 2015 at 1200hrs at Jinnah Stadium, Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad.

Pakistan’s women defeated Denmark to grab the 3rd position in the 2014 Kabaddi World Cup being played in India.

Pakistan scored 38 points, whereas the Danish women team managed to score only 28. As the match began in Barnala, a city in the state of Indian Punjab, Pakistan women resorted to aggressive game play and by the end of first half, the team in green was in lead with 18 points to Denmark’s 14.

Pakistani women dominated the match throughout the second half and ended up with a decisive lead. The women’s team had earlier lost 19-47 to India in their last-four clash.
Pakistan sent its first women’s team to India for the Kabaddi World Cup.

It is a tough competition involving tag team wrestling, and it is the first time they have sent women to take part.

In2013 the Sixteen young Pakistani women made history in the Kabaddi World Cup when Pakistan's women team defeated Denmark and got 3rd position in the Kabaddi World Cup played in India. This was first time the country has ever fielded an international women's team in the sport. Kabaddi is hugely popular in the Punjab provinces of India and Pakistan, where it originates, and is played in countries around the world with South Asian populations. It has traditionally been seen as a macho sport but now Pakistan is sending a women's team to participate in 12th SAF Games (Asian Style) at Guwahati (India) from 06 to 16 February 2016. India and Pakistan, neighbors and ferocious sporting rivals, have met in two of the three men's World Cup finals held so far, with India prevailing both times. Having decided to build strong women's team, the authorities already wrote to top sports organizations and educational institutions, collecting a group of girls coming from diverse sporting backgrounds for national team selection.
