‘(NPC/MOJO) special IT training workshop aims to create new and alternative employment opportunities for the members of the Press Club by teaching them the latest technical and digital skills. In the IT training workshop, IT sector experts provided special practical training to journalists on the latest trends in the digital world.
During a media briefing held at the National Press Club, Islamabad, the founder and head of “Apna Kamao” Malik Waqar Ahmed formally announced a major training program to adapt journalists, media representatives and youth across the country to the latest digital requirements.
Malik Waqar Ahmed said that in the present era, traditional journalism and employment methods are changing rapidly, and if our media persons and youth do not learn the latest IT skills with time, they will be left behind in the global race; with this aim in mind, his organization, in collaboration with the National Press Club, aims to provide special training to media professionals in digital journalism, smart content creation, use of modern artificial intelligence (AI) tools, advanced video editing and graphic designing. He assured the journalist community that the aim of this initiative is to enhance the technical skills of media workers so that they can perform their professional responsibilities more efficiently and also generate additional sources of income through digital media.
While appraising the audience at the Press Club about the overall vision of “Apna Kamao”, Malik Waqar Ahmed further said that his platform is already working day and night to eliminate unemployment and put the youth on their feet nationwide, under which thousands of students have been provided free courses on freelancing, e-commerce business and social media marketing on Fiverr and Upwork.
Reiterating her commitment to women empowerment, she said that her special “Bahanar Beti Project” is providing women with the best opportunities to earn dollars from home in a dignified and safe manner, and now special badges are also being launched for media persons at the National Press Club where those who complete the training will be given verified digital certificates and 24/7 live WhatsApp community support to work in the field.
She appealed to all media houses and members of the Press Club to play a key role in taking this public service message and free education mission to every corner of the country so that every young and talented segment of Pakistan can benefit fully from the digital revolution.
During the ongoing “Apna Kamao” special training program at the National Press Club Islamabad, renowned media trainer Atif Khan organized an important workshop for working journalists and field reporters, which aims to teach the journalistic community the latest digital tools, mobile coverage and smartphone reporting practices. Atif Khan, who has extensive experience in newsroom management in the media industry, while talking to the participants during the training sessions, said, “In today’s era, digital media and mobile journalism (MoJo) have completely changed the structure of traditional journalism, so it has become mandatory for every reporter to be an expert in ‘multi-format news filing’.” He clarified that in this one-month course, participants are being taught HD video recording directly from the field, filtered audio capturing in noisy environments, and effective use of the latest artificial intelligence (AI) tools through purely hands-on and practical exercises, rather than traditional theories. Media trainer Atif Khan emphasized that the aim of this course is not only to strengthen journalists technically but also to provide them with a complete framework to explore new and legitimate opportunities for online income by making them economically independent through modules on digital branding, YouTube content creation and freelancing.
