Office of the Spokesperson Hosts Welcoming Reception and Luncheon for Incoming Spokesperson Ambassador Sajjad Haider at MoFA Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: The MoFA, Office of the Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), officially arranged a special ceremony followed by a luncheon reception hosted by Ambassador Tahir Hussain Andrabi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad. The formal event was organized immediately after the conclusion of the weekly news briefing to officially introduce the newly appointed Foreign Office Spokesperson, H.E. Ambassador Sajjad Haider.
The high-level reception was attended by the executive leadership of the Diplomatic Correspondents Forum Pakistan (DCFP), including Founder President Asghar Ali Mubarak, Secretary Pervaiz Moghal, Syed Mujtaba Rizwan, Naseem-ul-Ghani, Nayyar Ali, Abdul Razzaq Bhatti, Baqir Sajjad Syed, and other senior diplomatic journalists. During the post-briefing session, the forum presented a welcoming flower bouquet to the incoming spokesperson, Ambassador Sajjad Haider, to commemorate a smooth transition and reinforce the strong collaborative relationship between independent media professionals and the state’s diplomatic communication apparatus.
Addressing the gathering, DCFP Founder President Asghar Ali Mubarak paid glowing tributes to the profound contributions of the state’s seasoned diplomatic corps. “Behind Pakistan’s remarkable global diplomatic triumphs stands the tireless, expert craftsmanship of our Foreign Office officers,” Mubarak stated.
Mubarak highlighted that over the past year, Pakistan’s foreign policy successfully charted a historic course toward regional stability and global peace. He emphasized that milestone achievements—including the Islamabad Talks, the Makkah Agreement, and Pakistan’s active leadership at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit—stand as undeniable proof of the state’s highly effective proactive diplomacy on the international stage. He assured the incoming spokesperson, Ambassador Sajjad Haider, of the media’s absolute and continued cooperation in responsibly projecting the country’s national interests globally.
Expressing his gratitude, the outgoing spokesperson, Ambassador Tahir Hussain Andrabi, commended the exceptional professionalism and national responsibility demonstrated by Pakistani diplomatic correspondents. Recalling a recent international summit in the United States, Ambassador Andrabi shared that senior global diplomats openly acknowledged Pakistan’s peace-building credentials, noting that “the concrete, practical steps taken by Pakistan to enforce regional peace and conflict resolution are milestones that even the United Nations has struggled to achieve single-handedly.”
At the conclusion of the ceremony, a commemorative group photograph was conducted with both spokespersons alongside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs beat reporters, diplomatic journalists, and television anchors to mark the memorable institutional transition.
