Islamabad -The newly appointed Inspector General of Police Tariq Masood Yasin said all possible efforts would be made for improving security arrangements in Islamabad, while talking to The Daily Mail Inspector General of Police (IGP ICT) Tariq Masood Yasin said that responsible media can play vital role for peace. He said that the law and order situation in the federal capital improving day by day. The IG Islamabad Tariq Masood Yasin soon after his appointment called on Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan at Punjab House last month and first task was PTI public meeting at F, 9 Park which was handled by local police very well. The local police under the supervision established a Police Help desk inside F-9 Park which was next to the entry gate (Mehran Gate) on the left flank in front of CDA Office. It was liaison with all to provide information’s about Traffic plan, situation information, lost & found with Emergency Health Care, Ambulances and Fire Brigade etc for general public. It was observed that during the PTI public meeting there was only one gate for entry and exit of the crowd. The local police created two extra exits for use of the citizens at the time of dispersal; left one towards CDA Camp office remain specifically reserved for ladies and children and these were opened at end of the event ending.

IGP Islamabad Tariq Masood Yasin said there is no shortage of police in Islamabad’’ we have managed the recent public meeting of PTI with local police and they managed very well ‘’he, said. He appreciated the role of local police during the hard day and said that we are trying our best. ‘’‘We have taken every humanly possible step to ensure the security of the citizens and to keep the traffic in order, said IG Islamabad. He said that nobody is allowed to destroy the peace of the City for which we are sufficiently prepared. ‘’We try our best to keep the city clean and peaceful as we love this city and its citizens’’ he, added.IG Islamabad Tariq Masood Yasin said there is no pressure on Islamabad police ’’ I have given free hand by the Ministry of Interior for maintain the law and order situation in Capital ‘’he, stated. Answering a question he said that the close liaison among ICT Police and citizens is the need of the day for secured city. He said that installation of security cameras will helped the police and security personals for keeping peace. He said regular interaction between ICT Police and other security deportments are very important to overcome crimes and improve security arrangements in Islamabad. At this occasion this correspond got an opportunity to observed a meeting , IG Islamabad Tariq Masood Yasin while addressing the police official in that meeting stated that only those to remain part of the police who will be ready to positively change attitude towards people. Tariq Masood Yasin said that good attitude with citizens, listening to their complaints, and prompt registration of FIRs in property cases, fair investigations and an attitude to accept latest technology. ‘’We are not masters; rather their servants’’ he, added. Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Mr. Tariq Masood Yasin said that Islamabad is a safe city for every citizen. We have many challenges, we trying our best effort for a secure and safe Islamabad. He further said that people can contact directly to this IGP office in case of any problem. He said that ‘’I am not in the favors of many check post in capital. He said that the tradition of surprise checking is introducing among police system. He said there is no pressure on me’’ I have given free hands by the Ministry of Interior and federal Govt supporting us, he said. In this regard ‘’we are maintaining computer record of vehicles. He said that like other security agencies we are also facing challenges but we are always ready to meet. He said that Islamabad Police is now a well organized department. ‘’We are generating the awareness about security in general public and for this purpose, we are introducing the mobile phone technology, people can directly contact the concerned police department and in case of any complaint, immediate action will be taken . He said that the Islamabad capital is now become a safe and secure capital. ‘’This all credit is goes to the brilliant police training, international standard equipment, installed security cameras etc’’ he, added. He said that if all departments share their experience and help each we can achieve our peace target quite easily. Mr.Tariq Masood Yasin before promotion as IG Islamabad served as DIG Multan, Chief Traffic Officer Lahore. He had taken some great initiatives for better policing on roads for public convenience and wants to apply in Islamabad with an improved version. He said that use of security related latest technology and equipment in Islamabad would help in coping with security challenges more effectively. He appreciated the efforts of ICT Police for improving law and order situation in the federal capital. He said a safe and secured environment is essential for citizen in Islamabad. The Inspector General of Police Islamabad Tariq Masood Yasin while assuming his charge said that corruption and bribe practices would not be tolerated at all and police officials would have to work like a team. In his first address to the police personnel, the IGP stressed on enhancing coordination among all wings of Islamabad police and timely sharing of information to counter any challenge. He said that Islamabad police team would have to work like an organized force so that protection to the lives and property of citizens may be ensured. The IGP also focused to have effective check and balance system within police department and resolving the problems of policemen by their officials for better output. The contacts with notables in any particular locality should be improved to inculcate friendly policing culture. It would help to ensure peace by timely sharing any suspicious activity in particular area, he added. He said that FIRs of reported crime must be registered at police stations on merit and without any delay and inconvenience to the citizens. He said departmental action would be initiated in future against those officers having complaint against them. He directed all officials to maintain their record properly and said those showing good performance would be encouraged and others involved in dereliction of duties would have to face disciplinary
Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Tariq Masood Yasin already given time to all SDPOs and heads of police stations to ensure quality working environment and effective policing measures in their respective areas. He formally gave this time in shape of deadline while addressing at Central Police office Islamabad. AIG Operations Asher Hameed, SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani, all Zonal SPs, SP Headquarters, all SDPOs and all SHOs were also present during that meeting which was held last month.
The IGP asked all police officials to focus on resolving the public complaints and take every possible step to provide maximum relief to citizens, adding “No laxity in this regard will be tolerated.” Tariq Masood stressed for speedy disposal of cases and their investigation purely on merit. Policing was a service oriented job and every police official must serve the humanity with devotion, said IGP.
The IGP while addressing to AIG Operations Asher Hameed, SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani, all Zonal SPs, SP Headquarters, all SDPOs and all SHOs said that Islamabad Police was determined to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens and no stone would be leave unturned to accomplish this responsibility. The government appointed Mr., Tariq Masood Yasin as inspector general of police (IGP) of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), when he was serving as regional police officer (RPO), Multan, before his appointment as IGP Islamabad. He has served on vital assignments, including AIG Establishment and DIG Security Division, Islamabad, and earned a good reputation during his service. The Establishment Division issued a notification in this regard saying “Mr. Tariq Masood Yasin (PSP/BS-20) RPO Multan has been transferred and posted as IGP, ICT Police, in his own pay and scale”. Mr. Tariq Masood Yasin is very busy and active on social media and on his message on Face book he said ‘On first day in blue uniform after assuming the responsibilities of IGP Islamabad. I am confident that we can turn around policing in Pakistan with community involvement, media support, technology driven initiatives, hard work and dedication. ‘’There is no dearth of God fearing professionally competent Police Officers in Pakistan ‘he mentioned. ‘’Just we need is a realization that a lot of blood has continuously gone into its roots to make it a prosperous and safe country ‘he, further stated. ‘’Let’s not waste time and join hands to defeat our enemies and make it a strong, honorable and prosperous country in the comities of nations ‘he concludes.
