Islamabad—The Pakistani Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan has emphatically stated that the Indian state terrorists operating in Pakistan will be chased after and arrested wherever they are.
Addressing a press conference on other day at Punjab house Islamabad Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan strongly rejected the impression created by some quarters that the RAW’s spies have the support of Iran. Flying kites regarding arrest of Indian spy and his links with Iran should be avoided, the Minister said adding Iran has nothing to do with the activities of Indian intelligence network.
“The issue of detained Indian Spy Kul Bhushan Yadav is not linked with Iran. It has to do with India and I urge people not to link the matter of held Indian spy with our relations with Iran,” he said.
He urged media to be very cautious, while reporting on Pak-Iran brotherly relations. “Some elements wanted to harm Pak-Iran relations. He added the impression that Iran is facilitating India in anti-Pakistan activities is baseless and unfounded. Interior minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan while addressing on current issues stated that the recent visit of the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has been quite positive. He said that a press release was issued by the government regarding the Rouhani’s visit but a certain section of the media proliferated news on their own instead of sticking with the press release. He said that a detailed meeting was held between him and Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost at Punjab House in Islamabad on last Friday. He said that the Iranian Ambassador had reservations about the reporting that was done regarding the Iranian President’s recent visit to the country. “I replied to him that Pakistani media is independent” said Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan. Interior Minister said that Iran is not involved in any negative activities in Pakistan; instead the neighboring country has supported Pakistan in the hour of need. He said that the Pakistani people have great affection towards the people of Iran thus giving an impression that Iran is against Pakistan is quite wrong. Referring to the statement made by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani during his visit to Islamabad that Pakistan’s security is Iran’s security, Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan said nothing can come in the way of Pak-Iran relations as the government, the military and the people are committed to enhance relations with brotherly Tehran which has always supported Pakistan in the hour of trial.
He said Pakistan and Iran can jointly bring stability to the region. Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan said Iran had no connivance with the activities of Indian intelligence network. He further added that the advice to mediate the affairs between Iran and Saudi Arabia was placed forward by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif.While talking about the apprehended spy of the Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), Nisar said that Kulbhushan Yadav’s case will meet its logical end. A section of media unduly criticized Iran, which harmed the good feeling came out of Iranian President’s visit to Pakistan and we are trying to address it, said interior minister.
Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan said Pakistan is committed to take its relations with Iran to new heights.
Responding to media reports appeared in a section of press, he rejected any secret meeting of his and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif with Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif.
“I think before commenting on it negatively, the media should have asked the interior ministry about it,” he said.
He added that they held a routine meeting in broad daylight, which could not be dubbed as secret. Commenting on deletion of Pervez Musharraf’s name from the Exit Control List, the minister said the government had rejected Musharraf’s plea for this purpose thrice. He said the government deleted Musharraf’s name on court’s observation.
Turning to handling of sit-in in Islamabad, he said the protesters were dispersed due to prudent strategy of the government and all the cabinet members were on the same page in that regard. He said every step was taken with complete consultation of cabinet members and the prime minister was also onboard.
The government handled the issue without shedding any drop of blood said the Minister. He thanked respected religious leaders hailing from Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad for their role in solving the issue peacefully. The Minister said those, who destroyed public property would be dealt according to the law.
The interior minister said that the government could not force the protestors out aggressively as it could have meant many fatalities.
“The people had gathered in the name of respect for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), but were misled and misguided by a few. The government had to act carefully,” Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan said.
The security czar said that the government had given the protesters an ultimatum to vacate the red-zone area when two of the ministers suggested that we should further hold negotiations in order to avoid violence. Interior Minister said that a vast portion of the people who took part in the protests were innocent people. He added that every Muslim has unshakable faith in the dignity of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) but certain elements manipulated the innocent people in the protest for their own purposes.Nisar stated that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif instructed him that he would deal with all matter associated with the protest. He added that the sit-in was organized for Mumtaz Qadri but there is no mention of him in the agreement made. He said that politics was done by certain individuals under the veil of sit-in.He stated that he gave instructions that no minister will be part of a news conference whilst standing next to the protestors. He said that the matters were being mutually delay by Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Saad Rafique and him but the impression was made that the governmental officials are not on a common page. He further added that the advice to mediate the affairs between Iran and Saudi Arabia was placed forward by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif.While talking about the apprehended spy of the Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), Nisar said that Kulbhushan Yadav’s case will meet its logical end. Meanwhile, Pakistan has denied Indian High Commission request for counsellor access to recently arrested RAW officer Kulbhushan Yadav. According to sources, India has made the request a few days ago but it was rejected as still interrogation is underway from the spy. Counsellor access will be provided after the completion of investigation, the sources added Referring to the Pervez Musharraf case, Nisar commented that the former dictator’s name was added in the Exit Control List (ECL) after the decision was made by the Supreme Court, adding that he will bring the documents related to the particular case before the nation on Monday 04th April 2016. He said that the government rejected Musharraf’s three appeals to go abroad and that the government was unable to make any move whilst the investigation by the court was ongoing. He said that he was amazed and confused at the remarks made by the Special Court. He added that a few politicians, who did nothing while they assumed authority, are now criticizing the government. He added that some analysts, who now criticize the present government, seem to be in a state of slumber for the recent five years.
Nisar said that it was believed that the government is showing a non-serious attitude towards the Musharraf case despite the ongoing cases against him in the courts, which include treason case, Akbar Bughti and Benazir murder cases.
He said that the government informed the court that if Musharraf went abroad, he will not return. He added that Musharraf would have gone abroad after 15 days even if the government appealed against the court’s decision. Nisar said that neither the Prosecutor nor the court asked to add Musharraf’s name in the ECL.
Nisar also discussed about the recent protests that took place in Islamabad. He said that the protestors peacefully asked for participation in Mumtaz Qadri’s chehlum but they broke the agreement made with the Punjab government. He said that investigation regarding administration-level mismanagement is underway. About the dismal performance of Pakistani cricket team in World T20 Tournament, he said that he would request the PM to investigate how the report of the inquiry committee got leaked before its submission to him.
Earlier on last Friday, Chaudhry Nisar holds a meeting with Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost at Punjab House.
Expressing concerns over the activities of Indian agents on Iranian soil, Nisar demanded that Iran should arrest Indian intelligence RAW’s agent Rakesh alias Rizwan.
He further added that to improve confidence building pertaining to the borders between the two countries, the Iranian government should seriously consider Pakistan’s reference in regards to the matter.
Nisar addressed the current situation, stating that the presence of Indian intelligence agents on Iranian soil was a highly suspicious matter.
Quoting the Iranian government’s stance, Iranian Ambassador stated that Tehran will address all reservations and concerns expressed by Pakistan.
He further stated that the Iranian government will not let anyone jeopardize the brotherly relations between the two countries.
In a joint press conference along with Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Tuesday, Director General Inter Services of Public Relations (ISPR) Asim Saleem Bajwa said that the arrest of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav is a huge success for Pakistan.
