Eid-ul-Azha, the festival of sacrifice ‘’Qubani ‘’ celebrated country wide ‘’we dedicate this Eid to the supreme sacrifices of Kashmiri people’’ Prime Minister Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif
Islamabad—-The Pakistani nation celebrated the Eid-ul-Azha with religious fervor and enthusiasm to mark the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).The day began with special prayers in mosques for the well-being of the Ummah and progress, prosperity, safety and security of the country. The Prime Minister Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif attended Eid prayers at Raiwand. In his message he said that nation needs to unite against extremist thoughts. “We cannot ignore sacrifices of Kashmir’s. They will succeed through their sacrifices. We dedicate this Eid to the supreme sacrifices of Kashmiri people and we will continue doing so till the Kashmir issue is not resolved according to their wishes,” he said. “Supreme sacrifices” of Kashmir’s and said Pakistan will continue doing so till the Kashmir issue is not resolved. “We cannot ignore sacrifices of Kashmir’s. They will succeed through their sacrifices. We dedicate this Eid to the supreme sacrifices of Kashmiri people and we will continue doing so till the Kashmir issue is not resolved according to their [Kashmiri people] wishes,” the Prime Minister said in his message on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. He said, “Kashmiri people have sacrificed their third generation in their struggle to get freedom from India.”.“They are struggling for their right to self-determination and facing Indian atrocities. Their voice cannot be suppressed through force,” he said. The Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain, in his message on the occasion, said Pakistan must remember “our Kashmiri brothers and sisters affected by terrorism”.
“During this hour of need we must support the Kashmiri people. They are facing the worst atrocities to get their right to self-determination. Time is not far away when the Kashmiri people will get dividend of their supreme struggle. They will soon celebrate such festivals in free land,” the President said.” Eid congregations were held at mosques, Eidgahs, and open places across the country.
In the federal capital Islamabad the main Eid congregation was held at Faisal Mosque.After offering Eid prayers, the faithful slaughtered their sacrificial animals. The sacrifices would continue for three days. Family and friends met each other to celebrate the Eid feast. The rains forced devotees at many places to offer namaz in mosques instead of Eidgahs or open grounds. During their speeches before namaz, the imams exhorted Muslims to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice and follow Hazrat Prophet Ibrahim A.S, who offered to sacrifice his son Prophet Hazrat Ismail A.S.to please Allah. The Allah Almighty replaced Ismail with a sheep just as Ibrahim was about to sacrifice him. The meat of the sacrificed animal is distributed equally in three parts. The person making the sacrifice keeps one part for his family while the other two parts are distributed among relatives and the poor. After the prayers, Muslims sacrificed goat, She goat, sheep, ram, ox, cow, male buffallo, buffallo, camel female camel, commemorating the great sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim.Also known as Bakr-id or Eid-e-Qurban, it is the second major festival of Muslims.The time of sacrificing the animal starts from 10th Zul Hajja (After the Eid prayers and Eid sermon) till the end of 12th (Sacrifice of animal (Qurbani) is compulsory during these three days and at the last time of the last day (i.e. till the sun set of the 12th Zul-Hajja. or sacrificing animals as prescribed are he goat, She goat, sheep, ram, ox, cow, male buffallo, buffallo, camel female camel., must be of one year old. Ox, cow, buffalo, she buffalo, must be of two years old and camel and female camel must be of (5) years old. The animal of less or (The animal of full age is preferable) age are not acceptable for sacrifice. However a sheep called ‘Dumba’ (Fat Ram) will be allowed if it is (6) months old provided it looks older; if it is mixed with the goats of one year old it will look like them. These animals are not acceptable for sacrifice.(I) Blind (ii) One eyed (ii) Lame (iv) Very thin (which cannot walk up to the altar) (v, vi, vii)More than one third ( 1/3) of ear, tail or hips are found cut (viii) If the animal has lost one third (1/3) of its vision (The capacity to see can be judged by serving fodder before the animal).(ix) Teeth less (x) That cow or ox etc. whose horns have been broken from the root. (However an animal which is born hornless can be taken for sacrifice.
