Asean Red ‘s hero was Major Haseeb, who scored 4 goals in the final to beat Varo line 6-4 in the final of 3rd Serena Hotels Polo Cup 2016, which was held here at Islamabad Club Polo Ground. Six teams participated in the championship, which were divided into two pools. Before the finals an exhibition match was held involving kids aged 10 to 14 and crowd highly appreciated kids’ polo skills.In the final, it was Asean Red who took the lead in the first chukker through Major Haseeb.Their lead was soon doubled by Bilal Humyun.Varoline took one back through Raza Akram just as the second chukker started.But Asean Red bounced back and Haseeb scored third goal.Varoline again reduced the lead through Omer.But Haseeb once again struck to take back 2-goal lead.In third chukker, Varoline completely outclassed Asean Red by scoring two goals to square things though Nausher and Omer.But Varoline ran out of gas in the fourth chukker and Asean Red hit two goals through Arsalan and Haseeb to complete the victory.The final of 3rd Serena Hotels Polo Cup 2016 was full enjoyments for the polo lovers at Polo Club Ground Islamabad. The audience, consisting of diplomats, government officials and businesspersons, came out in great numbers to watch the final match. The festive ambiance was evident through the cheer and color The diplomats including the Kenyan high commissioner H.E.Prof.Julius Kibbet Bitok and dignitaries arrived in great number to watch the ‘’Game of Kings,’’ King of the games’’ The four days event starts with preliminary matches between Asean Black,PBG WI-TRIBE,FANTASTIC 4,KALABAGH 4, FANTASTIC 4 WHITE ,PMA,AND ASEAN RED. The final match was between Asean red and fantastic 4 where Asean read emerged victorious. One of the most classic equestrian sports Serena hotels hosts the polo cup annually and the events is organized under the very active sports diplomacy initiative. The exuberant game was divided into seven minute Chukkars and end were changed after every goal. The CEO Serena Hotel Mr. Aziz Boolani was the chief guest along with other dignities like Kenyan high commissioner H.E. It is mentioned here that the first polo match of the capital Islamabad was organized by Serena Hotels two year back. The exhibition match was took place at the beautiful Islamabad Club Polo Ground between the Serena Mustangs and Serena Warriors.The Serena Hotels CEO Aziz Boolani formally opened the match by pitching the first ball onto the field. Each chukker was an enthralling show of equestrian skill, as riders darted between around the field. In the end, the Serena Mustangs defeated the Serena Warriors by a score of 7 – 4.Serena Hotels in collaboration with the Pakistan Golf Federation and the Islamabad Golf Club already hosted the President of Pakistan 31st Gold Medal Golf Championship 2015 under the banner of their Sports Diplomacy Initiative. The Hotel annually hosts a Polo Cup Match, the Serena Hotels invitational Golf tournament, Cricket tournament and the Serena Hotels – Chief of the Air Staff Squash Champion ship; they also sponsored the President Gold Cup International Squash Championship 2015. For the first time the hotel sponsored Serena Hotels 1st Open Tennis Championship 2015having the richest prize money in the tennis circuit. At the end of the final of 3rd Serena Hotels Polo Cup 2016 the guests were served refreshments with unique hospitably. The souvenirs like T- shirts Caps were also distributed by the organizer of the 3rd Serena Hotels Polo Cup 2016 among the media and guests. Polo is one of many sporting activities the hotels are involved in. Their active Sports Diplomacy Initiative has gained much traction in social, diplomatic and community circles.
