PSL; Rawalpindi in, Multan out, Multan Sultans sold for Rs 2.45 billion
PSL franchise Multan sold for Rs 2.45 billion, renamed Rawalpindi Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan was bought by Wali Tech for a record amount of Rs 2.45 billion.
Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi started the bidding process for Multan Sultans, 5 bidders participated in the bidding process while the base price for the auction of Multan team was set at Rs 182 crore.
At the start of the bidding, CD Ventures bid Rs 215 crore and then increased it to Rs 226, after which Wali Tech won the highest bid of the Multan Sultans auction by placing Rs 245 crore.
According to the PCB, a total of 6 proposals were received within the stipulated time, after which 5 bidders were declared technically qualified and participated in the auction.
This process of selling the Multan team has set a new record in the PSL market, as the price of Rs 2.45 billion made it the most expensive franchise.
Wali Technologies Group announced the name of the team as Rawalpindi along with the purchase of the franchise.
It should be noted that the former owner of Multan Sultans, Ali Tareen, had refused to renew the 10-year ownership agreement, after which the PCB announced the auction of the franchise. However, after the success of the auction of 2 new PSL teams, the Cricket Board decided to auction Multan Sultans as well.
PSL 11 will feature 8 teams, including Hyderabad and Sialkot teams, which were recently auctioned.
Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Mohsin Naqvi has said that talks are ongoing between the ICC and Bangladesh and progress is being made in this matter. While discussing the Pakistan-India match after the auction ceremony of PSL franchise Multan Sultans, Mohsin Naqvi said that the guest who comes to the house should be respected, he made it clear that Pakistan is not afraid of anyone's threats.
The PCB chairman further said that Pakistan has openly supported Bangladesh's position and is in favor of decisions according to the requirements of justice and sportsmanship. There will be no compromise on the principles of transparency and equality in Pakistan cricket.
It should be noted that earlier, a meeting was held between the PCB Chairman and the ICC delegation regarding the boycott of the match against India yesterday, in which Pakistan openly expressed its concerns and also gave a day to remedy the injustice done to Bangladesh.

واضح رہے کہ حکومت پاکستان کی ہدایت پر پاکستان کرکٹ بورڈ (پی سی بی) نے ٹی 20 ورلڈ کپ میں شرکت کرنے اور بھارت کے ساتھ میچ نہ کھیلنے کا فیصلہ کیا تھا۔
ٹی 20 ورلڈکپ 15 فروری 2026 کو کولمبو میں بھارت اور پاکستان کے درمیان میچ شیڈول ہے حالانکہ پاکستان نے اعلان کیا تھا کہ وہ بھارت کے خلاف میدان میں نہیں اترے گا، لیکن ورلڈ کپ میں ان کی شرکت برقرار رہے گی اور وہ یہ میچ فورفیٹ کر دیں گے ۔
28 ستمبر 2025 کو دبئی انٹرنیشنل کرکٹ اسٹیڈیم میں فائنل میں بھارت نے پاکستان کو 5 وکٹوں سے شکست دی تھی , 21 ستمبر 2025 کو ایک اور میچ میں بھی بھارت نے پاکستان کو 6 وکٹوں سے ہرایاتھا 14 ستمبر 2025 کو گروپ اسٹیج میں بھارت نے پاکستان کو 7 وکٹوں سے شکست دی تھی
ذرائع نے بتایا کہ تمام اسٹیک ہولڈرز کوگرین سگنل دیدیا گیا ہے انٹرنیشنل کرکٹ کونسل (آئی سی سی) نے پاکستان کو 9 فروری کی ڈیڈ لائن دی تھی۔ دوسری جانب چیئرمین پاکستان کرکٹ بورڈ (پی سی بی) محسن نقوی کی وزیراعظم شہباز شریف سے ملاقات کا بھی امکان ہے جس میں محسن نقوی انہیں مذاکرات کے حوالے سے بریف کریں گے اور آئندہ کے لائحہ عمل کی گائیڈ لائن بھی لیں گے۔ یاد رہے کہ انٹرنیشنل کرکٹ کونسل، پاکستان کرکٹ بورڈ اور بنگلہ دیش کرکٹ بورڈ کے درمیان پاکستان کے ٹی 20 ورلڈکپ میں بھارت کے خلاف میچ کے بائیکاٹ کے حوالے سے مذاکرات ہوئے، مذاکرات میں پاک بھارت میچ اور خطے کی مجموعی کرکٹ صورتحال پر تفصیلی بات چیت کی گئی۔ آئی سی سی وفد گزشتہ روز بھارت سے میچ کھیلنے کی درخواست لے کر چیئرمین پی سی بی محسن نقوی کے پاس لاہور آیا تھا۔
