Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has confirmed in his recent statement that the detailed medical examination of PTI founder Imran Khan was conducted at PIMS Hospital, Islamabad, instead of Shifa International Hospital.

The government’s position, reasons for the change of hospital and the PTI’s response to it consist of the following important points:

1. Government reasons for changing the hospital (Attaullah Tarar’s position) The Information Minister gave the following reasons in his explanatory statement released on the social media platform X:
   Security concerns and rush of workers:

According to Attaullah Tarar, the presence of PTI workers on the roads and outside Shifa International Hospital had created an unusual security situation. Keeping in mind the convenience and security of other patients, they were shifted to PIMS.
Involvement of Shifa Hospital doctors:
He clarified that although the hospital was PIMS, Shifa Hospital’s expert doctors were also involved in this medical board and examination, respecting the court orders.
Detailed examination and health report:
A board comprising an ophthalmologist, cardiologist and physician conducted a complete examination of Imran Khan and declared him medically fit, after which he was transferred to Adiala Jail again before Fajr. His sister Uzma Khan was also with him during the examination.2. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s reaction
The PTI leadership has expressed serious reservations over the late-night examination at PIMS Hospital instead of Shifa International and his immediate return to jail:
Allegation of violation of court order:
Chairman PTI Barrister Gauhar and spokesperson Sheikh Waqas Akram said that the Supreme Court’s order was very clear that Imran Khan should be transferred to Shifa International Hospital. The government has openly violated the court order by using the excuse of workers. PTI has rejected the PIMS administration’s press release and the sudden declaration of Imran Khan as “fit”, calling it a “show-off” and “old drama”. They have demanded that the examination should be conducted only at Shifa Hospital under the full supervision of personal physician Dr Faisal Sultan. The change has further increased the already existing political tension in the capital, where the opposition is calling it a government malice while the government is calling it a necessary measure to maintain law and order.

وفاقی وزیر اطلاعات عطاء اللہ تارڑ نے اپنے حالیہ بیان میں اس بات کی تصدیق کی ہے کہ بانی پی ٹی آئی عمران خان کا تفصیلی طبی معائنہ شفا انٹرنیشنل ہسپتال کے بجائے پمز (PIMS) ہسپتال اسلام آباد میں کیا گیا۔
حکومتی مؤقف، ہسپتال کی تبدیلی کی وجوہات اور اس پر تحریکِ انصاف کا جوابی ردِعمل درج ذیل اہم نکات پر مشتمل ہے:
1۔ ہسپتال تبدیل کرنے کی حکومتی وجوہات (عطاء اللہ تارڑ کا مؤقف)وزیر اطلاعات نے سوشل میڈیا پلیٹ فارم ایکس (X) پر جاری اپنے وضاحتی بیان میں درج ذیل وجوہات بتائیں:
سیکیورٹی خدشات اور کارکنان کا رش:
عطاء اللہ تارڑ کے مطابق شفا انٹرنیشنل ہسپتال کے راستوں اور باہر پی ٹی آئی کارکنان کی موجودگی کے باعث غیر معمولی سیکیورٹی صورتحال پیدا ہو گئی تھی۔ دوسرے مریضوں کی سہولت اور سیکیورٹی کو مدِ نظر رکھتے ہوئے انہیں پمز منتقل کیا گیا۔
شفا ہسپتال کے ڈاکٹرز کی شمولیت:
انہوں نے واضح کیا کہ اگرچہ ہسپتال پمز تھا، لیکن عدالتی احکامات کا احترام کرتے ہوئے شفا ہسپتال کے ماہر ڈاکٹرز بھی اس میڈیکل بورڈ اور معائنے میں شامل تھے۔
تفصیلی معائنہ اور صحت کی رپورٹ:
ماہرِ امراضِ چشم، ماہرِ امراضِ قلب اور فزیشن پر مشتمل بورڈ نے عمران خان کا مکمل معائنہ کیا اور انہیں طبی طور پر بالکل فٹ قرار دیا، جس کے بعد فجر سے قبل انہیں دوبارہ اڈیالہ جیل منتقل کر دیا گیا۔ معائنے کے دوران ان کی ہمشیرہ عظمیٰ خان بھی ہمراہ تھیں۔2۔ پاکستان تحریکِ انصاف کا ردِعمل
شفا انٹرنیشنل کے بجائے پمز ہسپتال میں رات گئے معائنہ کرانے اور فوری جیل واپسی پر پی ٹی آئی کی قیادت نے شدید تحفظات کا اظہار کیا ہے:
عدالتی حکم کی خلاف ورزی کا الزام:
چیئرمین پی ٹی آئی بیرسٹر گوہر اور ترجمان شیخ وقاص اکرم نے کہا کہ سپریم کورٹ کا حکم بالکل واضح تھا کہ عمران خان کو شفا انٹرنیشنل ہسپتال منتقل کیا جائے۔ حکومت نے کارکنوں کا بہانہ بنا کر عدالتی حکم کی کھلی خلاف ورزی کی ہے۔ پی ٹی آئی نے پمز انتظامیہ کی پریس ریلیز اور عمران خان کو اچانک “فٹ” قرار دینے کے عمل کو مسترد کرتے ہوئے اسے ایک “نمائشی کارروائی” اور “پرانا ڈرامہ” قرار دیا ہے۔ ان کا مطالبہ ہے کہ معائنہ صرف اور صرف ذاتی معالج ڈاکٹر فیصل سلطان کی مکمل نگرانی میں شفا ہسپتال میں ہی ہونا چاہیے۔یہ تبدیلی دارالحکومت میں پہلے سے موجود سیاسی تناؤ میں مزید اضافے کا باعث بنی ہے، جہاں اپوزیشن اسے حکومت کی بدنیتی جبکہ حکومت اسے امن و امان برقرار رکھنے کا ناگزیر اقدام قرار دے رہی ہے۔
